The VADTel-AIoTU5 unit is designed for remote monitoring of household utility meters (gas, water, electricity), data transmission via GSM/GPRS/LTE-M/NB-IoT networks to cloud platforms, and integration into smart home systems.

- Smart cities and IoT infrastructure.

The VADTel-AIoTU5 complies with the following EU directives:

- **Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU** (including Articles 3.1(a), 3.1(b), 3.2 and Article 3.3(d–f) cybersecurity, data protection and fraud-prevention requirements).
- **RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU**.
- **WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU**.

## Installation & Operation

### Installation

- Installation must be performed by certified specialists.
- The module is easily mounted in a vacant module slot of the meter.
- Normally, no configuration of the module is necessary.
- Installation requirements:
  - Protect from direct sunlight.
  - Minimum distance from metal structures: 3 cm.

### Security recommendation

Use strong credentials for access to the cloud service. Keep the device firmware up to date. Do not share device IDs or SIM credentials with unauthorised persons.

### Maintenance

- Annual inspection:
  - Check for housing and seal integrity.
  - Clean with a dry, soft cloth.
- Battery replacement: after 5(10) years of operation.

The device does not contain:

- Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI).
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs).
- Phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP) in concentrations exceeding 0.1%.

This device is designed to meet the cybersecurity and data-protection requirements of the Radio Equipment Directive (Article 3.3). The manufacturer provides security updates for identified vulnerabilities. Personal data transmitted by the device are minimised and protected by encryption.
